I had the opportunity to work on Prehistoric Planet: Season 3 – Ice Age during my time at Framestore Montreal. It was an incredible experience collaborating with such a talented team, especially alongside FX Lead Kevin Christensen.
This project was made even more special by the recognition it received this year, including a VES Award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode, a VES Award for Outstanding Effects Simulations in an Episode, and an Annie Award for Best FX in TV/Media. ()
I was responsible for developing the rain setup, including its interaction with the mammoth’s fur, which was a particularly rewarding technical and artistic challenge. I also built the grass kickoff setup, contributed a hero water shot, and developed dust interaction effects with the ground, helping to bring additional realism and physicality to the environments and creature performances.
Working on a show of this scale, where environmental FX played such a critical role in storytelling, was an incredibly fulfilling experience.
